Robert McKinley Death – Rev. Dr. Robert McKinley Gilmore, Sr., a resident of Houston, Texas, and the Founder and President of Real Urban Counselors, Consultants and Associates has sadly passed away. He was announced dead through social media by his beloved family on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023. “What a life. Thank you father for all you have done for us. We love and will miss you. You taught us how to navigate this world and now it’s up to us. Thank you.” Robert’s son ReShun Gilmore wrote. The cause of his death was not made public at this time.

Rev. Dr. Robert McKinley Gilmore, Sr., a resident of Houston, Texas, was a 1970 graduate of Jack Yates Sr. High. He was the beloved father of Robert Gilmore Jr. (Rusty), ReShun Gilmore, and Queliquia Darden. He obtained a BA, MA in Communications and Psychology from Texas Southern University from 1976 to 1984. Rev. Dr. Robert McKinley Gilmore, Sr., also attended University of Houston from 1982 to 1985 where he obtained a Doctorate Education in Psychology, Urban Ministry, and Communication.
Rev. Dr. Robert McKinley Gilmore, Sr., was the Founder and President of Real Urban Counselors, Consultants and Associates. He was also the President of Real Productions. He was a Professional advisor, counselor, consultant for indivduals, businesses, groups and organizations. Provide wide range of communication support services, as well as expert experience with program development, management and implementation.

Dr. Robert McKinley Gilmore, Sr., was into “Hope After Recovery and Wellness Project” ( A dynamic National Project aimed at building partnerships, extending networks and linking resources within the community, with fatih based leadership, agencies, organizations and elected officials. Primary focus on addiction, mental illness and substance abuse programs that reach individuals and families in need of intervention, education, treatment and a host of support services.) He was the writer of “Hope After Dope from a Drug Addict to a Doctor”.
He was really informed, friendly, and compassionate. He was a tremendously competent, devoted Counselor with excellent communication abilities. He had counsel and an opinion on everything, and life was his favorite topic to discuss. People sought his counsel and embraced the love, compassion, and generosity that characterized him. He had a sense of adventure and made friends with everyone he encountered. He welcomed innumerable individuals in need of a helping hand, a sympathetic ear, and an open heart.
