Rivergate Target Active Shooter Investigations – Over a dozen law enforcement agencies are responding to the scene of an active shooter at the Rivergate Target in Nashville, TN. According to law enforcement agencies, officials are investigating the serious incident at the Target Store located at RiverGate Mall in the area of 2050 Gallatin Ave N, Madison, TN. Shoppers inside the mall feared for their lives after seeing armed police officers storm the mall earlier today. Authorities are currently at the scene of the incident.
At the time of this publication, no victim information has been released. Everyone is advised to stay away from the area until law enforcement agencies investigating the incident declare the zone safe and threats-free. At least 30 police cars, a SWAT Unit, and multiple fire and emergency crews are on the scene of the ongoing incident. Unconfirmed information reaching SNBC13 alleged that the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle – a Red Chevrolet Impala – in an unknown direction. The scene remains active at this time.
According to reports, some stores inside Rivergate Mall have been evacuated following the ongoing incident. According to reports, a lockdown has been imposed for stores in the Gallatin Avenue N. area. A heavy Metro Police presence remains at the scene of the ongoing incident. Police have not confirmed if any shots have been fired, or if the suspect involved has been located and taken into custody. Authorities responded to a shooting call but did not immediately confirm if responding officers fired their weapons following the incident.
FINAL UPDATE: Nashville Police Department says officers responded to a report of an active shooter at the Gallatin Pike North Madison Target Sunday. Law enforcement agencies released the image of the male who they say is suspected of firing a single shot at the mall prompting a heavy police presence and immediate evacuation of the business place. Law enforcement agencies say no one was injured in the incident. Police say security footage showed the unnamed man fired a pistol into the back wall of the store before exiting and leaving the scene in a maroon color car.
