Richard Bergskaug Death – The Shaker Regional School District community is mourning the sudden passing of one of their great friend, teacher, coach and mentor, Richard Bergskaug. Richard Bergskaug, a special education teacher at Belmont High School died unexpectedly due to a medical complication. He was announced dead on Tuesday, the 28th of March 2023. Richard was affectionately known to many as “Coach B” or “Mr B”.
Richard went above and beyond to help kids whether it was on the field or in the classroom he was always their number one supporter. Thoughts and prayers are with his friends, the Bergskaug family, the BHS Boys Baseball team and the entire Belmont community during this difficult time.
“I know others could probably go on and on with all of his accomplishments and I’m sure the list of adults and children whose hearts are broken by this news is never-ending, but as a mom of a kid he coached and someone who got to work with him for a short period I know he will be forever missed,” Cathy Collette wrote.
Who was Richard Bergskaug?
Richard Bergskaug was a resident of Belmont, New Hampshire. Many got to know Coach Richard when he was the assistant coach of the Jv team with coach brace in 2021 at BHS and then they got the pleasure to have many chats with him when he took the position at CES as the special needs teacher. All the kids and staff just adored him.
He was a wonderful friend as well as a teacher, mentor, and coach. Richard was recognized for his contagious sense of humour and his ability to make other people laugh more than anything else. He was a devoted husband. At school, he was held in very high esteem for his athletic prowess, and he instilled in each of his children a lifelong love of and enthusiasm for participating in sports. Richard was a genuine source of motivation for his children, and he left an indelible mark on the hearts of each one of them.
Richard Bergskaug obituary and funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by the family.
