After receiving a report that a man armed with a gun was present on campus at Lone Star College in Montgomery, the administration decided to give the college the all-clear. Around 11:30 in the morning on April 21, 2022, the official Lone Star College Twitter account announced in a tweet that the college had placed the campus in a state of lockdown. Following a complaint of two males arguing in Lot 2 on Wednesday morning, with one of the men armed with a gun, police were called to the scene.
Those who were on campus were instructed to “go to the nearest room and lock the door,” according to a tweet sent out by the institution. Around midday, the campus issued an “all-clear” call to the surrounding area. Investigations were being carried out by the police who were present. There was not a single report of any shots being fired.
The campus of Lone Star College in Kingwood was also cleared after being put on lockdown Thursday, January 30, 2020, while police searched the school after an incident was reported. Houston Police, Lone Star College Police, and Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies went to the scene and cleared each room. As of 4 p.m. Thursday, they had not found any signs of an active shooter or killing. Officials said that students and staff were led out of the building and that the school would be closed for the rest of the day.
Around 1 p.m., the college sent out a lockdown message to students and staff, telling them to find a room and lock the door. Ed Gonzalez, the sheriff of Harris County, says that there have been no reports of injuries or proof that a shooter is still at large. Officials said that the person who called said that they heard several gunshots and saw several people running. Officials said that two kids got minor injuries, one from a panic attack and one from an anxiety attack.
