Regan Noelle Gibbs (Marek) Cause Of Death, Obituary Not Yet Available – The lady slain inside her apartment on Monday was a former goalkeeper for the University of Kansas soccer team, according to the Lawrence Police Department.

Regan Noelle Gibbs (Marek), 25, of Lawrence, was found mortally injured at a residence in the 2500 block of West 6th Street, according to Lawrence police. She was pronounced dead on the spot later. Just before 7:30 p.m., the incident was reported.

Chad Joseph Marek, 26, of Lawrence, was detained at the scene for the murder of Gibbs, according to authorities. Domestic abuse is being investigated as a contributing cause, according to LPD. Marek and Gibbs were married, according to LPD.

During the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 seasons, Gibbs was a goalkeeper for the University of Kansas women’s soccer team. Gibbs hails from Naches, Washington, according to the 2017-2018 Women’s Soccer Roster. According to Lawrence Police Department, she has been a Lawrence resident for the past six months.
