Angelo Frederick announced the passing of Ray who was a President, of the U.S. and Canada, Franchising and Managed by Marriott Select Brands. The cause of death has not been published online.
Angelo Frederick wrote on Facebook; “It is with deep sadness that I share that Ray Bennett, President, U.S. and Canada, Franchising and Managed by Marriott Select Brands, passed away this morning. Despite the efforts of the doctors and Ray’s heroic will to live, the heart attack he suffered a few weeks earlier was too much to overcome. Ray’s wife, Vivian, daughters, Gabrielle, Rachael, and Michelle, and son, Michael, have been by his side through all of this. Having worked with Ray since he joined Marriott in 2001, I can tell you that this loss is profound – not just in terms of his incredible work ethic and ability to move the business forward, but also because of the warmth and joy he radiated and that big smile. It was a pleasure to work with Ray for over 20 years. We traveled a lot together, meeting with owners and franchisees, and visiting hotels, and it was always enjoyable, no matter what challenges or opportunities we were navigating through.”
