A man from Massachusetts, age 21, has passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a significant collision that occurred in Maine. On Friday 3rd February 2023, a 2004 Ford pickup driven by Nathan Kennedy of Halifax was said to have crashed with the median guard rail, flipped over, and come to rest on its side in the breakdown lane of the Turnpike southbound near the Saco River Bridge.
This information was provided by the Maine State Police. After being thrown from his truck, Kennedy landed on the road, and despite being transported to Southern Maine Medical Center and later Maine Medical Center in Portland, he was pronounced dead at Maine Medical Center. In the early stages of the investigation, it was determined that Kennedy was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision and that speed was not a contributing factor.
There were no injuries sustained despite the fact that a second vehicle collided with debris that had fallen from the bed of Kennedy’s truck.
