I-15 rear-end collision near Primm – After an accident that happened in Nevada on Tuesday morning, July 12th, 2022, a man and a woman were severely injured. The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol were informed about the accident that happened around 7:12a.m. on Interstate 15 near Primm, a town in Nevada.
A Toyota pick-up truck in which the two victims are in was hit by an SUV that was travelling at a very highspeed. The accident happened around the south of mile marker 4 as stated by the public information officer. According to ktnv.com, the preliminary investigation stated that into the collision, a red Nissann SUV was following a Toyota pick-up truck at a high rate of speed when the Nissan failed to slow down when it got close to the truck and hit the Toyota pick-up from behind.
The accident made the Toyota to hit into the median before flipping over in the interstate’s southbound lanes as the officials reported. The female passenger who was not identified was taken out of the vehicle and she sustained severe injuries. She was declared dead at the scene of the accident after much effort to safe her.
The vehicle driver was critically injured and transported to the trauma center at University Medical Center for treatment. His injuries are not life-threatening and he is responding to treatment. His name was not released to the public. The NSP public information officer said that “It is unknown if the driver of the SUV was impaired at this time.” At Jean, about 10 miles north of the incident scene, the interstate’s southbound lanes were closed for some time after the accident happened.
The vehicle drivers who drive through the route have been advised to pass another route as traffic camera in the region showed a slow stream of cars passing through the formerly blocked-off area as of 10 a.m., however officials hadn’t yet confirmed whether the motorway was open once more. The drivers were told to expect delay in the route.
