Pratt, WV. Mourns Scott Craig Farley, Dies @ 60: Scott Craig Farley, aged 60, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024 in Salem. He was formerly a resident of Pratt, WV. He was born in Akron, Ohio, on June 1, 1963, to Albert E and Nancy Brewer Farley, who were residents of Pennsboro. Mary Sue Jackson Farley, the wife of Scott, Scott graduated from Lewis County High School in 1981.
He attended Ohio Valley College, WV Tech, and Bear Valley Bible Institute. Patriot Coal and Massey Energy Company dismiss supervisors Scott was employed in the coal mining industry for a decade. He was a deeply religious individual who dedicated his life to Christianity and served as a preacher of the Bible. Recently, he delivered speeches at several churches including Boomer Church of Christ, Seth Church, Madison Church, Stewart Park Church in Cross Lanes, and Salem Church.
He delivered sermons at several gospel gatherings, collaborated on editing Mountain Messenger (an addition to the Church Christian Publication) with DJ Curry, and took pleasure in assisting with Beckley’s Surprise Valley Camp. He provided assistance to Potter’s Children’s Home and Family Ministries. Scott derived considerable pleasure from socializing with his family and friends, particularly his granddaughters and great-granddaughter, when he was not engaged in his religious duties.
Scott’s surviving family members include his parents, wife, daughter named Andrea from Charleston, two grandchildren named Destiny and Anthony, one great-granddaughter named Dream, three siblings named Clista (Dennis) Heintzman from Pennsboro, Rebecca (Scott) Ragle from Ackerly, TX, and Elisabeth (Jason) Taylor from Martinsburg, as well as several cherished nieces. A Celebration of Life Service, officiated by Rick Tincher and Dan Kessinger, will be place at Davis Funeral Home in Salem on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM. Family and friends are invited to attend.
The gathering for family and friends will take place at O’Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery on Monday, May 13, 2024. It will start at 12 noon and will be followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 PM, which will be officiated by Mike Tichner and DJ Curry.
