Pierre Zakrzewski Death, Pierre Zakrzewski killed : Pierre Zakrzewski, as a veteran Fox News cameraman and photojournalist reportedly died after being injured with Fox News journalist Benjamin Hall on Monday, 14th of March, 2022.
Pierre was killed alongside Ukrainian journalist Oleksandra Kuvshynova when their vehicle was struck yesterday by incoming fire.
55-year-old Pierre Zakrzewski who was a Fox News photojournalist and veteran cameraman, and Oleksandra Kuvshinova, 24, were killed outside of Kyiv when their vehicle was struck by incoming fire while on assignment in Ukraine
Their colleague Benjamin Hall was injured, according to statements from Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott and the Committee to Protect Journalists.
“Pierre was a war zone photographer who covered nearly every international story for Fox News from Iraq to Afghanistan to Syria during his long tenure with us, His passion and talent as a journalist were unmatched,” Ms Scott said.
Mr Zakrzewski, who came to Ireland as a child with his family in the late 1970s, had been working in Ukraine since February. After leaving St Conleth’s in June 1984, Mr Zakrzewski studied Arts in UCD, and soon travelled all over the world with his work.
He was based in London for the last number of years, but often visited Ireland to meet his many friends.
Mr Zakrzewski is predeceased by his father, who was from Poland and worked as an architect.
He is survived by his wife Michelle, his mother, who is French, and his five siblings
