He died on Friday 22nd September 2023 leaving his family, friends and colleagues in shock. He was announced dead by his wife through a Facebook post made on Saturday that says “As I sit here still trying to wrap my head around what happened yesterday. It just feels like nightmare. I lost my best friend, my better half, my everything”. The specific cause of Peter Tomlin’s death has not been revealed.

The total amount that has been raised so far through the campaign is $7,235 , with the largest donation being $2,500. The goal of the fundraiser was set to raise the sum of $100, so far 49 donations have been made to the account.
