On Saturday evening, a man was killed when he was struck by two cars while he was walking on a road in Sarasota.
According to a press statement issued by the Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian, who was forty years old, was attempting to walk across Clark Road in front of incoming traffic when he was struck by a car in the vicinity of the intersection with Swift Road. The incident occurred just before nine o’clock in the evening.
Troopers stated that after the initial car struck him, he was struck by a second vehicle. The coroner pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Clark Road’s westbound lanes were previously closed but have since been put back into service.
The crash is currently being investigated by law enforcement.
