According to court records, Gosal has no prior criminal history in British Columbia. The murder marks the sixth homicide in Vancouver in 2023.
Authorities don’t believe the two men were acquainted, and according to Addison, the circumstances surrounding the stabbing are still being looked into. Police also mentioned that a video of the incident was doing the rounds on social media and urged people not to spread it further. Monday morning, the Starbucks location did not open for business. The business stated in a statement that it will assist law enforcement in any way necessary for the inquiry.
