The incident occurred at around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday and took place off Sutherland Dam Road at the Slayground Motocross Park. Lt. Daniel Vengler, who is part of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, shared in a news release that the biker crashed his motorcycle while attempting a jump on the park ramps. The victim received life-saving aid from first responders but was later declared dead at 3:42 p.m. by Cal Fire San Diego.
In 2012 and 2013, an American BMX rider achieved consecutive victories at the X Games and earned two medals. He also made history as the first rider to flawlessly execute the “decade backflip” and “double-decade backflip” during a competition. Hailing from Southern California, he has been cycling since the age of five and took the initiative to construct his own complex dirt track in his backyard in 2015.
