Passaic Shooting Today – Over two dozen enforcement officers and emergency crews are responding to a shooting situation in Passaic, New Jersey on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023. The Passaic Police Department says that officers were sent to the basketball court at Christopher Columbus Park following reports of shots being fired in the area. According to sources, multiple people were shot following the tragic incident but these claims are yet to be confirmed.
Children were among those enjoying the spring night in the park when the shooting occurred; the gunshots sent them running for protection. People are asked to stay away from the area while authorities look into what happened.

A suspect in the shooting deaths of five people, including a 4-year-old kid, who occurred last month in New Jersey has been named by police. According to Passaic police, they have named Ernest Fuentes as one of the shooters and have filed an arrest order for him. It occurred at 12:55 a.m. on November 21, 2021, during a gathering in a backyard.
Police said that when they arrived, they discovered a 4-year-old, a 21-year-old woman, a 25-year-old woman, a 29-year-old man, and another adult, all with gunshot wounds. The final adult had a graze wound but declined medical attention. The non-life-threatening injuries suffered by the other victims were quickly treated at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson. The property at Lafayette Avenue and Howe Avenue’s backyard reportedly came under fire from two shooters.
If anyone sees Fuentes, they are asked to call Detective Raymond Rodriguez at 973-365-3939, according to Passaic police. If members of the public see Mr. Fuentes, they should not attempt to approach him.
