Onondaga Park shooting victim identified as military man, 19, from Fairburn, Georgia - Malik Sharif Shipman

According to the Syracuse Police Department, the identity of the adult male who was shot and killed on Monday evening in Onondaga Park has been revealed by the police. Malik Sharif Shipman, 19, from Fairburn, Georgia, was shot in the middle on July 4 at 11:14 p.m., according to Lieutenant Matthew Malinowski, a spokesperson for the Syracuse Police Department.

According to the Syracuse Police Department, the incident took place in the 300 block of Parkway Drive. According to Malinowski, Shipman was still actively serving in the military at the time of the fatal shooting. Malinowski asserted that Shipman was taken to Upstate University Hospital, which is where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. According to him, there were a number of spent round casings found at the scene, as well as two vehicles that had been hit by gunfire.

Details of what led to the fatal shooting are not immediately known at this time. No arrest/suspect information was immediately disclosed.

**Officer-involved shooting reported in Great Falls, 1 hurt**

The Great Falls Police Department issued a news release on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, stating that it is investigating a shooting that took place the previous day that involved a police officer. At 3:49 in the morning, police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of 8th Avenue South in response to a disturbance there.

According to the results of the inquiry conducted by the GFPD, the incident constituted an officer-involved shooting. The GFPD did not disclose any information regarding who fired a weapon, who was shot, or whether or not anyone sustained a life-threatening injury. The authorities are looking for a second person involved in the crime. The Goodwill Fire and Police Department does not believe that the community is at any risk based on the evidence that is currently available.

The 400 block of 8th Avenue South will be closed off for the duration of the investigation, and residents are strongly encouraged to relocate elsewhere if at all possible. There has been no more information made public at this time; however, we will keep you updated as we receive new information. The shooting will be investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Montana Department of Justice.
