One dead after shooting in Central City, near Washington Avenue

The New Orleans Police Department stated that a man was shot and killed in Central City on Wednesday morning (May 18).

Preliminary investigation shows that the 30-year-old was discovered with several gunshot wounds in the 2700 block of Clara Street, near Washington Avenue. The crime happened just before 10:30 a.m.

He was transported to a local hospital, where he died. The victim will be identified and an autopsy will be performed to discover the exact cause of death.
