On Saturday night, two juvenile males shot a 2-year-old girl, police say: The Knoxville Police Department is looking into the shooting of a two-year-old inside a downtown Knoxville apartment on Saturday evening.
The Knoxville Police Department and Knoxville Fire Department rushed to the The Vista apartment complex on E. Hill Avenue at 5:30 p.m. Saturday after receiving reports that a 2-year-old girl had been injured by a gunshot in an apartment. The person was sent to a hospital in critical condition.
According to their investigation, authorities believe the girl was struck after the pistol was accidentally discharged inside the flat. According to KPD, a 12-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy were charged with felony reckless endangerment and juvenile possession of a handgun. Police said that additional charges were likely.
No other injuries were reported. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
