Death: Veteran Real Estate Litigator Warren Estis Dies At 73 – Warren Estis, a senior litigator who co-founded what is billed as New York City’s largest real estate-only law company, died on Wednesday. He was 73 years old at the time. The attorney acted as the principal litigator in disputes for New York City developers and property owners as a founding member of Rosenberg & Estis.

In 1975, Estis and his partner established their own firm to represent landlords in rent-controlled properties. According to The Real Deal’s count of the largest real estate practices, the firm rose to 85 attorneys in 2019. In terms of the number of real estate attorneys in New York City, it came in third behind Fried, Frank, Harris Shriver & Jacobson, and Clifford Chance, all of which are much larger, multifunctional firms.
