Mrs. Thelma Longmire, age 70, departed this life on April 9, 2022. She was born on June 9, 1951, in Hattiesburg, MS to the late George Hill and Vernon C. Brown. She attended Rowan High School and transferred to Muskegon High School receiving her diploma. After relocating to Muskegon, MI, Thelma gained employment as a Certified Nurses Aid under the employment of University Parks Nursing until her retirement. Thelma loved her family and was very creative. She enjoyed laughing, playing cards, and going to the casinos.
She accepted Christ in her life at an early age, she joined Spring Street Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. McAfee. She served on the Nurse Gill Auxiliary and continues her membership under the leadership of Rev. Daniel Dixon. Thelma married Willie Longmire in 1980 and was devoted until his death in 2014. They were together for 25 years.

Thelma leaves to cherish in her memories by her loving son, John (Tiffanie) Trotter, Don Long both of Muskegon, MI; Scottie Longmire of Atlanta,GA, Fred Longmire of Grand Rapids, MI; daughters, Kashara Roberts and Munxel French both of Muskegon,MI; (6) sisters, Jean Whitfield, Mary Thornton both of Muskegon,MI, Elizabeth Thomas of Detroit,MI, Georgia Hill of Chicago, IL, Levell Eison, and Janet Travis both of Joilet,IL; (4) brothers, Anthony Brown of Muskegon,MI, Lynn (Darlene) Crosby of Joliet,IL, Willie (Ernestine) Crosby of Minnesota, and Sylvester (Margarette) Crosby of MS; (2) brother in laws, Ernest Grissom and Robert Potts; (17) grandchildren, Anthony Crump, Joie Trotter Jr., Jaquawn Trotter, Kha-ruhl Trotter, Sabri Trotter, Marcus Mitchell, Deshawn Darnell, Deon Darnell, Eddie Coleman, Brandy French, Monique French, Michael Longmire, Khia’Yana Trotter, Khalimah Trotter, Niyla Roberts, Demetrius Anthony, and K’Juanye Trotter; 25 great grandchildren; (3) special friends, Dimple Minton Doris Clayborne, Shirley Savage, Lula Mae Martin; a very special cousin, Gloria Linda Perry of Hattiesburg, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Thelma was preceded in death by both parents, husband, Willie Longmire, sons, Anthony and Joie Trotter; sisters, Gloria Tucker, Mollie Roberts, Bobbie Barlow, Valerie Potts, Mary Bird, and Mary Grissom; brothers, Willie Roberts, James Crosby, Lonnie Crosby, James Nelson, Larry Brown and Jerry Roberts; grandson Khalid Burt, and great-grandchild Jermany Trotter.
SERVICE
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Corinthians Baptist Church with Pastor Emeterius Clarence Guy officiating. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
VISITATION
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Corinthians Baptist Church.
