Obituary: Patrick Morris Has Died At 37
Gloucester – Patrick R. Morris, 37, of Gloucester, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 11, 2022. He was the loving son of Bruce R. and Dawn Galante Morris. Born in Beverly, Patrick graduated from Beverly High School, class of 2003, and went onto Bentley University, graduating in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing.
After college Patrick worked as an IT recruiter for Oxford Global Resources and was promoted to the Director of Recruiting, Engineering. Patrick was well-liked and respected by his colleagues and employees. During his time at Oxford, he developed many meaningful friendships.
Patrick’s passions were all types of sports; he was a professional poker player and a fanatic about Fantasy Football. In his younger years, he played hockey and baseball—and it was through sports he developed many of his life-long friendships. Though he was an only child he had many friends and cousins who he considered to be siblings. His early posse consisted of his firstborn cousins Derek, Stephanie, Hilary, and Mark. He later embraced his special bond with cousins Ben, Deon, Michael, Amanda, Zachary, Alexa; his god-daughter Mary Grace and Shaelyn; his second cousins, the Fulford Girls (Irene, Alissa, Megan, and Jenna), and Griffin and Brynn Silva, were also part of this circle.
Growing up in Beverly Farms, Nick Mann, the Leblanc family, and Corey Bradley were among his tightest friends. He and his best friend Brian spent endless hours hanging out at West Beach. His close relationship with past President Ralph Coluntino inspired him to later become a member of the Board of Directors. He continued his love for West Beach, still spending time with his family and friends, and he especially enjoyed watching the next generation continue the tradition
Patrick had countless friends and a special gift of remaining in touch regardless of where life took them. Though we can’t list everyone, some of the more significant were Frankie, Brendan, Michelle, Joanie, Robin, Cat, Em, Matt M., Phil, and Christian. Other members of Patrick’s extended family were the Murray, Pydynkowski, Lavoie, and Miksas, families. Spending many vacations in North Conway creates lasting memories. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and especially his adopted dog Betty.
In addition to his parents, Patrick is survived by his maternal grandparents Onorato and Diane Galante; aunts and uncles, god-mother Michelle Galante Duasan, god-father Stephen Galante and his husband Bill Pluckhahn, Tracy Galante Decaro and her husband David, Lisa Galante Ide, Nancy Morris and her husband Bob Grant, Christie Morris; and second cousin Don MacQuarrie.
He is predeceased by his grandparents Shirley E. Galante, Robert, and Virginia Morris; uncle Ken Morris and cousin Hilary Mitchell Ryan.
