Nicholas Samuels & Aidan Connolly Death, Obituary Unavailable Yet – Two Massachusetts men died on Tuesday while kayaking in rural northern Vermont after being caught in severe weather.
According to patch.com, Aidan Connolly, 27, of Roslindale, and Nicholas Samuels, 29, of Weston, headed out on Seymour Lake in a single canoe just before noon Tuesday, according to Vermont State Police. The males were caught in rain, heavy gusts, and slushy water, according to police, before capsizing and drowning.
The boat capsized, according to a witness, and Connolly and Samuels attempted to swim back to shore. “The males began swimming back to shore,” police stated, “but a witness reported seeing them fall under the sea and not reappear.”
On Tuesday, police divers discovered the dead roughly 100 feet from the coast, according to the department.
