Obituary; Joey Gardner Freestyle New York, Former manager and producer for TKA and Anderson Cooper passed away: During the course of his lengthy career in the music industry, Joey Gardner, a beloved native of New York, passed away not too long ago.
Within the Freestyle music genre, which emerged in the late 1980s, Joey was a pioneering force that emerged as a significant influence. As well as producing a number of songs for the vocalist K7, he was also responsible for producing a number of songs for the New York-based Freestyle quartet TKA. In addition, he was a collaborator on a number of records that were released by Tommy Boy Records.
As the creator of the TKA sound, Joey Gardner is the architect. No matter if we were performing as TKA or as K7, his influence can be heard in each and every song that we have ever created. We were able to acquire all of our knowledge from the experiences that we had in the studio, and he was generous enough to share his creative thoughts and experiences with us. When it comes to me, he is much more than a mentor or manager; he is also much more than a producer or a collaborator on songwriting; he is a member of the family. He is the reason that every single iteration of our band owes everything to him because if he weren’t, we wouldn’t be here any longer.
