Obituary – James Bokovoy Has Died At 79, What Happened?
Bokovoy, James D. Age 79, of Edina, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 7, 2022. Survived by loving wife of 53 years, Wendy; children, Kimberly (Derek Jackson), Allison (Kevin Anderson), William, Lori (Brian Huffman); grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Lucy, and Annika; brother, Glen; nieces and nephew, extended family, the Petersons, and friends. Jim was born in Minneapolis and graduated from Patrick Henry High School, Dunwoody Institute, and Metropolitan State University.
He was drafted into the army to Alaska and returned to marry Wendy and received his degree from Mankato State University. They moved to Des Moines, Iowa where he was the plant manager for Commercial Printing for 9 years and had four children. They returned to Minneapolis where he purchased Pro-Craft Printing and was a successful business owner for 36 years.
Jim had a strong work ethic and passed it on to his children. Jim had a love of newspaper and ink in his veins and was involved in newspaper delivery for 36 years through January 2022. Jim loved his family, all sports and politics, and especially loved the fresh air and his pontoon on Lake Roosevelt. He loved the State Fair, Snoopy, Como Zoo, the circus, blueberry pie, corndogs, cream puffs, and Jerry’s caramel pecan rolls.
He adored his grandchildren and showed them the love of God. The Lord shined through his entire life. Funeral service at 11 am Friday, April 15 with visitation beginning at 10 am, Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
