Obituary – Chief Justice Todd Thornhill Has Died At Age 61, Cause Of Death – According to a city official, Springfield Municipal Court Judge Todd Thornhill died at his home on Friday at the age of 61. Thornhill had been the chief justice of the Springfield Municipal Division since 1994, a position he had held for nearly 30 years.
According to news-leader.com, In a statement to the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, Greene County Presiding Judge Michael Cordonnier said, “Judge Thornhill was a stalwart in the Springfield Municipal Division and was recognized throughout the state for his skill, expertise, and compassion in handling the varied matters that came before him in the Municipal Court.”
Thornhill attended Missouri State University and the University of Missouri-Columbia Law School before being appointed to the seat. Before becoming a judge, he worked as a lawyer in Springfield for several years.
