Obituary – Bill Carlisle Has Died At Age 81
William Scott Carlisle, age 81, of Stratford passed away peacefully at home on April 8, 2022. Born in Geraldton, Ontario, son of the late Thomas and Jesse (Scott) Carlisle.
Bill started Canadian Tire at the age of 16 building bicycles. He worked at all 3 Canadian Tire locations – the corner of Ontario and Huron Street, Erie Street, and the current location. He was the lead singer and guitarist for the band BC+3 in the ’70s and ’80s.
Bill is survived by his children Tom and Shannon. Grandfather of Amanda Carlisle and Georgia Bea Sideris. Brother of Daniel Carlisle and Fred McNally. Also survived by sisters-in-law Sheila Carlisle, Beverly Butcher, Sandra McNicol (Ron), Brenda Kelly (Jim), and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his wife Linda (Beltz) on May 20, 2015, grandson Jonathan, brothers Thomas and Bob, brother-in-law Murray Butcher and mother-in-law and father-in-law Beatrice and Thomas Beltz.
Visitation will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, April 13, from 6-9 p.m. A private family service will be held. Interment at Sebringville Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society through the funeral home.
