Nyima Dolma Death – Nyima Dolma, 28-year-old daughter and sister passed away tragically on Tuesday, the 5th of July, 2022 at Sunny Brook Hospital, Toronto. Her promising life was cut short when a man was alleged to have set her on fire at the TTC bus near Kipling station on the 17th of June, 2022. She is the daughter of Mr Pagyal and Mrs Mingmar Dolma of Mundgod Tibetan Refugee Settlement in India.
She died in the hospital from her injuries around 2 1/2 weeks after she was rushed to the hospital with severe burns from the liquid the man poured on her. Tsering Dorjee Ex-Mie took to social media to announce the funeral arrangements of Nyima Dolma.
Kipling is the western terminus station of Line 2 Bloor–Danforth of the Toronto subway system. The station is served by buses and subway trains operated by the Toronto Transit Commission and is adjacent to the Kipling GO Station on the Milton line of GO Transit and the Kipling Bus Terminal, where passengers can connect with MiWay and GO Transit bus services. It is located in the Islington–City Centre West neighbourhood on St. Albans Road at Aukland Road, west of the overpass of Kipling Avenue, after which the station is named. The 900 Airport Express bus route connects Kipling to the Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Tenzin Norbu, 33, of Toronto, was detained by police in the area and initially accused of attempted murder and other offenses. He is currently accused with first-degree murder. According to the police, Dolma and her accused attacker had no relationship. Norbu is also facing charges of assault with a weapon, common nuisance endangering lives and safety of the public, and mischief over $5,000 interfering with property. Originally, police had said they suspected the attack was motivated by hate and was random. Norbu appeared in court via video link on Monday. Her relatives stated she dedicated her life to caring for others. A fundraising effort was begun online to pay for medical bills and funeral expenses.
