According to authorities, Beginning on Monday, the authorities in charge of improving the roadways along the northbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway in the La Mirada area have announced their intention to begin partially closing off a portion of the freeway. According to Marc Bischoff of Caltrans, the closures will make it possible for crews to restripe the pavement and alter the traffic lanes. Marc Bischoff is a spokesperson for Caltrans. According to the authorities, the following is the schedule, which is not fixed and is always subject to change:
- All lanes of northbound Interstate 5 between Artesia Boulevard and Carmenita Road will be closed beginning at 11 p.m., on Monday and continuing until 5:00 a.m., on Tuesday morning due to construction.
- Moreover, the link from westbound State Route 91 to northbound Interstate 5 will be closed during those times.
- Every morning, the lanes will become accessible once more.

According to the authorities, starting at five in the morning on Tuesday, there will be four lanes of traffic all the way from the boundary of Orange County to Interstate 605, it will also include a lane designated specifically for carpools. It is also planned to launch the new Valley View Avenue loop off-ramp from the northbound I-5. The former off-ramp for northbound Valley View Avenue will be closed while it is being demolished. Moreover, beginning at 5:00 in the morning on Wednesday, all the way from the boundary of Orange County in Interstate 605, there will be five lanes of traffic, one of which will be reserved for high occupancy vehicle traffic (HOV). An alternative route would be to take State Route 91 in the direction of the westbound traffic, then take the I-605 (San Gabriel River Freeway) in the direction of the northbound traffic, and then take the I-5 in the direction of the northbound traffic.
