North Huntingdon Shooting Investigations – Police in North Huntingdon, PA are investigating an incident Tuesday in the area of Route 30. According to law enforcement agencies, Route 30 was closed to traffic as multiple agencies responded to the area for a report of a man actively firing at officers. Following the incident, Stewartsville Elementary in the vicinity was placed on lockdown to ensure the safety of the students and staff.
Agencies from the Fayette, Allegheny, Somerset, etc. were requested for active backup by the Westmoreland County Police. A notice was posted on the North Huntingdon Township community urging residents to avoid the scene area. “Avoid Rt 30 in North Huntingdon in the area of Carpenter Lane due to shots fired at police. Police units from North Versailles McKeesport and White Oak were en route to assist. No further updates at this time.” Minutes later, North Huntingdon Township announced that the incident has been resolved.
