Page reports that Dickerson passed away yesterday afternoon as a result of injuries he received in an automobile accident on Thursday evening. Although Nicole has just been teaching for the past two years at Welch, she has been an educator in District 204 for a very long time.
Today, the crisis team will be available to assist students in coping with the impact of this news, with specific attention paid to the pupils who will be attending Nicole’s class this academic year. Counselors shall remain in their positions for as long as is required in order to accommodate the various requirements of our student body. Nicole Dickerson Death – Nicole Dickerson, Welch Elementary School teacher was involved in a motor vehicle accident. She was a mother of two, as well as a wife, and she taught fourth grade. At approximately 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, the Naperville Police and Fire Departments responded to a mishap with injuries at the intersection of Martin Avenue and Brom Drive. The collision involved a single vehicle and a pedestrian, who died despite efforts to save his life at the scene. The pedestrian, a 77-year-old man from Naperville, was attempting to cross Brom Drive at Martin Avenue when he was struck by a Chevrolet SUV driven by a 48-year-old man from Romeoville.
The Chevrolet driver was not injured and was released from the site pending the outcome of an investigation. The deceased’s identity is withheld pending notification of next of kin. Due to the nature of the incident, members of the Naperville Traffic Unit trained in accident investigation and reconstruction were dispatched to investigate the collision. Until approximately 3:50 p.m., the roadway in the vicinity of Martin Avenue and Brom Drive was closed for the initial investigation.
