Nicholas MacCiocca Injured – 69 year old Nicholas MacCiocca, from Rehrersburg was hurt when his pickup truck overturned after hitting a guide rail on Route 419 just outside of Womelsdorf. Womelsdorf is a borough in Berks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,810 at the 2010 census. The main thoroughfares through Womelsdorf are High Street, which runs east–west, and Pennsylvania Route 419, which runs north–south. U.S. Route 422 runs along the northern edge of town. The single-vehicle accident took place on Tuesday night, 12th of July 2022.
Report states that MacCiocca was transported by ambulance to Reading Hospital for unknown injuries after the crash, which occurred about 8:50 p.m. just past the borough line in Heidelberg Township. According to South Heidelberg police, who provide police services to the township, provided the following account:
“MacCiocca was traveling north when he lost control of the truck and it struck the guide rail along the right side approaching the bridge over Tulpehocken Creek. The truck flipped onto its roof. Rescue crews from Robesonia and Womelsdorf fire companies responded and freed MacCiocca from the cab. He was wearing a seat belt.”
The crash remains under investigation.
