New London Community Mourns A Beloved Resident Jean Thibodeau: Jean Ellen Thibodeau, 74, of Legend Lake, formerly of New London, passed away peacefully at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton on Sunday morning, May 5, 2024, following a brief illness. Jean, the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy (Mertz) Wright, was born on July 31, 1949, in New London. She attended the Catholic institution Most Precious Blood before graduating from New London High School in 1967 with the Class of 1967.
Jean began her professional career at Valley Bank following her graduation from high school. Jean wed David Thibodeau on October 30, 1971, in Manawa. Once wed, the couple established their residence in Appleton before relocating back to New London. As a parent, she remained at home. Jean actively attended and engaged in volunteer activities at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, located in Keshena. Crafts, cooking, traveling, and playing card and board games were among her passions.
Also surviving are her brother Dan (Michelle) Wright of Foxborough, Massachusetts, sister Barb (Bill) Hesser of Janesville, husband David of Legend Lake, three sons Michael (Sara) Thibodeau of Appleton, Tony (Beth) Thibodeau of Kaukauna, and Patrick Thibodeau of Appleton, granddaughters Blayne Otto and Kimberly Reese, and brother Dan (Michelle) Wright of Foxborough, MA. Jean is survived by a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives, and acquaintances. Mary, her sibling, passed away prior to her.
Jean will be commemorated at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Keshena at 12:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2024. The officiant shall be Father Hanz Christian. Visits are welcome at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Fridays from 10:30 a.m. until the commencement of services. The interment service will take place at Most Precious Blood Cemetery in New London. “The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Cherry Meadows Hospice for their compassion and assistance during Jean’s stay.”
