He died on Wednesday 6th September 2023 leaving family. friends and clients devastated. He was confirmed dead through a Facebook post that reads “Nathan was known not only for his career accomplishments but also for his kindheartedness and the countless lives he touched. He dedicated his life to helping others and was deeply loved by all who knew him”.

Born on October 5, 1979, in Memphis, Tennessee, Nathan Shelby’s legacy extends far beyond his remarkable career achievements. He was remembered not just for his professional accomplishments but also for his remarkable kindness and the profound impact he had on countless lives. Throughout his life, Nathan devoted himself to assisting others, earning the deep affection and respect of everyone fortunate enough to cross paths with him. Shelby holds membership at Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell, P.L.C., a firm he has been associated with since earning his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law.
During his time at law school, Mr. Shelby interned for the Honorable Diane K. Vescovo, Magistrate of the United States District Court, Western District of Tennessee, as well as the Honorable W. Frank Crawford of the Tennessee Court of Appeals. His professional practice primarily revolves around general insurance defense, business litigation, nursing home defense litigation, and construction litigation.

Within the firm, he was an esteemed member of the Tort and Insurance Practice Group as well as the Commercial Litigation Group. In addition to his close family members, Nathan is survived by his Aunt Nancy Stevens and Uncles Kelly Miller, Kevin Shelby, and Scott Shelby. He will forever be remembered by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends whose lives he touched deeply. Nathan is also preceded in death by his beloved parents Dennis and Hope Shelby.
To honor Nathan’s memory and celebrate his life lived to the fullest; visitation will be held on September 8th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Connell Memorial Church located at 113 Church Street in Goodlettsville, TN. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life event will commence from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location, Connell Memorial in Goodlettsville.
