Moyer Albergotti Obituary, Death – Anderson, South Carolina – Jane Moyer Fairey Albergotti, wife of Samuel Fretwell Albergotti, died peacefully at home on May 10, 2022, after living with ovarian cancer for four years.
The daughter of Dr. Frank Strait Fairey and Martha Buice Fairey, Moyer was a native of Rock Hill, South Carolina. She was the youngest in her family, with three adoring older brothers with whom she cherished loving relationships.
She graduated from Salem College, where she served in many leadership positions and was awarded the H.A. Pfohl Award as the outstanding senior who exemplified Christian values, academic excellence, and service to the college.
Following their marriage in 1983, Moyer and Sam moved to Anderson, where they made their home, raised their family, and nurtured a strong, loving partnership in marriage.
Widely known for her warmth and grace, lovely smile, and insatiable energy, Moyer delighted in the beauty of the earth, the treasure of friendship, and the gift of family. She inherited her mother’s appreciation of beauty and her graciousness as a host, entertaining effortlessly, designing beautiful floral arrangements, and creating a warm and welcoming home. Like her father, she found peace in nature and pleasure in caring for the beauty of God’s creation in her garden. Moyer loved walking her dog, Lizzie, spending time in the mountains with Sam, and visiting with dear friends.
Moyer’s greatest legacy and fulfillment came from the joy she shared, the lessons she taught both in word and example, and the constant and sacrificial love she had for her children. Moyer taught her children to be kind, compassionate, principled, and productive and to find strength and comfort in their faith, values she herself lived and modeled every day.
Always readily available with a listening ear, keen advice, and loving support, Moyer enjoyed seeing them develop their own personalities and pursue their passions. She celebrated their individual gifts, while nurturing their shared values, traditions, and friendship. It brought her great joy to know how deeply they love and respect one another.
Combining her passion for people and her love of homes and architecture, Moyer served many families as a Realtor from 2000-2021. Her unfailing work ethic, professionalism, and taste gained her clients’ trust, and she enjoyed helping them find just the right home, where they too would create special memories for their families.
Moyer was a dedicated member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, serving in various capacities over the years.
She also enjoyed being active in her community and served many organizations, often in leadership positions, some of which include Junior Assembly/Junior League of Anderson County, the YMCA, Anderson Heritage, the Anderson Free Clinic, the Anderson County Friends of the Museum, and the Tri-County Technical College Foundation. Most recently, she served on the City of Anderson Board of Architectural Review. She also cherished being a part of the Frances Hart Garden Club, Senior Assembly, and other social organizations.
Moyer is survived by her beloved husband and their four children; Dr. William Greer Albergotti, III (Kyle Dicke) of Charleston, Martha Fairey Albergotti Moore (John) of Spartanburg, Claudia Brownlee Albergotti Ruffin (Stuart) of Spartanburg, and Philip Gaston Albergotti (Allen) of Greenville; and her grandchildren Samuel Gaston Albergotti of Greenville and Ann Wilkerson Moore of Spartanburg. She is also survived by her brothers, Dr. Frank Strait Fairey, Jr. (Charlotte) of Charleston, Wade Buice Fairey (Cathy) of Rock Hill, and her sister-in-law, Elaine Jones Fairey of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her adored brother, Risher Rainey Fairey, and twin granddaughters, Mary Williams and Jane Fairey Moore. On Moyer’s behalf, the Albergotti family extends their sincere appreciation for the outstanding medical care provided by the trusted Dr. David Griffin and his compassionate staff at AnMed Health. Knowing she was receiving such loving care brought peace and comfort for Moyer and her family.
