Morton Plant Hospital Shooting – On Thursday, June 8, 2023, just before 8 o’clock in the morning, officers from the Clearwater Police Department responded to an incident at Morton Plant Hospital, which is situated at 300 Pinellas Street. The terrible event resulted in the death of an adult guy owing to a gunshot wound that was intentionally inflicted on himself.

It is essential to emphasize that the person who passed away was not a patient at the hospital at the time of the incident, which took place on the west side of the hospital’s premises and took place outside. The department wishes to reassure the general public that the hospital is operating regularly and that there is no threat to the well-being of any patients or staff members.

Morton Plant Hospital is a facility in Clearwater, Florida with a total of 687 beds and can be found at 300 Pinellas Street. The community-based Morton Plant Hospital offers services in more than fifty different medical subspecialties to its patients. This particular medical facility is a member of the expansive BayCare Health System. Morton Plant Hospital.

One of the high bluffs, which are uncommon in peninsular Florida, was selected as the location because it overlooks Clearwater Bay. The primary hospital facility is oriented so that its west side faces the Intracoastal Waterway, the barrier islands, and the Gulf of Mexico.

The year 1966 saw the construction of the current primary structure, which is referred to as the Witt Pavilion. Other facilities include the 1941 Pavilion, the Barnard Pavilion, the Adler Pavilion, the Sarah Walker Women’s Center, the Morgan Heart Hospital, the Cantonis building, which houses the emergency room, the Day Surgery Pavilion, the Ptak Orthopaedic and Neuroscience Pavilion, the Madonna Ptak Rehabilitation Center, the Axelrod Pavilion, the Cheek-Powell Heart and Vascular Pavilion, the Powell Cancer Center, and the Lykes Pavilion. Additionally, there is the Powell Cancer Center. The Roebling building, which had been vacant since it was torn down in 2005, was succeeded by the Morgan Heart Hospital. The previous Carlisle Imaging building was repurposed as part of the brand new Axelrod Pavilion.
