Morgan Patton Death – Morgan Patten, a 24-year-old woman was on her way to visit her fiancé, when she was invovled in a motor vehicle accident in North Carolina. Her parents expressed uncertainty over the reasons behind her being in the aforementioned vehicle. Patten arrived in Jacksonville, North Carolina on November 8, 2019 and proceeded to complete the check-in process at a motel.
She would not have the opportunity to reunite with her betrothed until such time as he received authorization to depart from the adjacent Marine facility on the day before. Patton had earlier informed her parents that she intended to have dinner at the Applebee’s restaurant located within the vicinity of her lodging parking lot.
Investigators revealed to Patten’s parents that she had at one point in time conversations with two other Marines. The two Marines exited the restaurant, and she followed suit a short while after, but she left on her own. However, she was able to find her way into the vehicle with them before it crashed 10 to 15 miles away. Patten was pronounced dead at the scene, and a passenger suffered critical injuries.
Hunter Wells, a Marine who is also stationed at Camp Lejeune, was charged with felony vehicular homicide, reckless driving, and speeding, according to the North Carolina highway patrol. He will be charged the following month.
