Mitchell Knaus Death – According to his friends and the people who recovered his body after the recent horrific jet crash in Broward County, Florida, the pilot, who was only 28 years old, passed away while doing what he cherished the most. After taking off from North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines, Mitchell Knaus was flying a single-engine Piper PA-25-235 when he lost control of the aircraft and crashed into a building in Hollywood on Wednesday.
Broward County pilot passed away
When the plane started to drop altitude, the air traffic controllers became anxious; however, Knaus reassured them that he had everything under control and that everything would be okay. Knaus got back on the radio to explain that he had decided to drop a banner in an effort to gain altitude in order to account for the new situation that had arisen. According to the federal government, Knaus had said that he had a total flying experience of 325 hours.
This included a total of fewer than twenty hours spent in the cockpit of the particular model of banner plane that has a documented history of fatal accidents in South Florida. In 2019, a further Aerial Banner pilot lost his life after the plane he was flying collided with a condominium in Fort Lauderdale.
After Knaus passed away, the Hollywood Police Department shared footage from the body cameras of several of the officers who responded to the fire, which showed the flames and the 911 calls that were made by witnesses. The investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board, who are tasked with the ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident, are urging witnesses to e-mail videos to the address [email protected] in order to assist with the inquiry.
Knaus reportedly relocated from California to South Florida around a month ago, according to Daniel Corti, who is his roommate. He stated that “the morning of the accident, we went jogging together in the park close by the house and then we just (said) goodbye, see you later tomorrow or tonight, and then the accident happened.”
