Mitchell Katz Death – On Thursday, a car traveling northbound on North Murieta Boulevard just south of Olivina Avenue veered off the road and struck a tree in the center median, according to the Livermore Police Department. The tree fell and blocked all lanes of southbound traffic for about a half hour. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital for injuries, according to spokesperson Azenith Smith.
Unconfirmed sources reported that the victim later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Mitchell Katz of Mitchell Katz Winery has passed away. East Avenue is closed in the westbound direction between Charlotte Way and Mitra Street due to a traffic collision, Livermore police said Friday at 3:53 p.m. Mitchell Katz Winery will be closed Saturday, July 22 & Sunday July 23.

The identity of the young man from Livermore who was killed earlier this month after allegedly driving through a red light and then hitting two other cars and a traffic pole near an interchange on Interstate 580 in the city has been confirmed by the authorities. According to the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau, the deceased person was identified as Christian Andres Lopez, who was 23 years old.
The deadly collision took place near the intersection of North Livermore Avenue and Interstate 580 on May 6, about 9 o’clock in the evening, as stated by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
According to the California Highway Patrol, Lopez was driving a 2006 Acura RL southbound on North Livermore Avenue at a high rate of speed when he ran a red light at the intersection. At the same time, two other cars traveling in the opposite direction were attempting to make a protected left turn onto the freeway. Lopez was later identified as the driver.
According to the authorities, Lopez was killed as a result of injuries sustained in an accident involving an Acura that collided with two cars and then crashed into a traffic pole. It was determined that he had passed away at the site. According to the California Highway Patrol, the people who were in the other vehicles were given medical attention but declined to go to the hospital.
