Shay Torgerson Death – Shay Torgerson, who was reported missing after he told his family he was travelling to spend a few days at his mother’s house to assist with the various responsibilities involved with his grandfather’s recent passing, has been found dead. According to reports, Shay allegedly died by suicide. He passed away on Monday morning, March 27th following a three-year battle with the debilitating mental illness of schizoaffective disorder – bipolar 1.
What happened to Shay Torgerson?
Shay Torgerson forgot to bring his medicine with him when he went to see his mother. He was already having a psychotic episode when his family found his pill bottle in the cupboard three days later. Shay just drove around and didn’t answer his phone or his texts. When he got to the middle of the Wabasha Bridge in Saint Paul at about 3:30 a.m., he parked, got out of his car, and jumped into the Mississippi River. However, the Ramsey County Water Patrol are searching for his body.
Who was Shay Torgerson?
Shay spent his childhood in Minnesota, primarily in the cities of Saint Cloud and Maple Grove. He was a star on the Maple Grove High School baseball team and went on to earn high honours there. During his time at Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where he majored in business and finance, he also participated on the university’s baseball and track & field teams.
Shay worked in the financial services field after completing his undergraduate degree, and he also kept playing amateur baseball for several clubs, including the Saint Anthony Hogs. Shay had a deep passion for athletics, but his family and friends were his true passion. He will be remembered for his infectious personality, loyalty, thoughtfulness, his compassion, and his sense of humour.
Remembering Shay, one thinks of a hard worker with great promise in the business and financial services sector. As a young adult, Shay has set himself up for a future filled with boundless love, great happiness, purpose and meaning, and opportunities to make a positive difference in his community through hard work, responsible living, focus on and commitment to the people and things that matter — including his renewed commitment to his Christian faith.
