At approximately 4:30 that afternoon, dispatchers in Parke County received a call indicating that a male had been reported missing after entering the water. The search was focused on an area that was just beyond a cordoned off swimming area near a concrete pier thanks to the assistance of witnesses who were there at the scene. This was just beyond a section of the water that had been roped off near a pier. Divers working with the Conservation Officers located Nzuzi in water that was 14 feet deep shortly after 5 p.m.

A man was discovered dead in an alley on the near east side of Indianapolis, and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating the death as a homicide. At roughly 6:30 a.m., police were called to the 300 block of Villa Ave, where they located an adult male inside a vehicle parked in an alley. The area is immediately adjacent to Fountain Square to the east. It appears the victim was shot many times, according to the investigation.
When asked how long the victim had been in the alley, authorities could not give a definitive answer. According to preliminary information gathered from speaking to neighbors, “what we do know is that this took place during the overnight hours,” said IMPD Sgt. Genae Cook.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal gunshot are still being investigated by police. Meanwhile, police thanked the neighborhood for their assistance in the probe. According to investigators, the body was discovered in a silver Ford Focus bearing plates from Chihuahua, Mexico. The police are looking into that car in the hopes that it will lead them to the victim or the person responsible for the crime. This is the second homicide to occur in the same area this year.
