A Collierville family is in mourning following the discovery of their daughter’s body in west Texas over the weekend. Chasity Brashier’s 29th-year-old disappearance remains a mystery to investigators. Friday was the last day that Brashier was seen alive, according to the police. She and an unnamed friend were travelling cross-country, and according to the unnamed friend, they got lost.
The acquaintance was picked up by an ambulance approximately six miles from the crime location. Before Brashier’s body was discovered, he was transported to the hospital for a well-being check. “We spoke to this gentleman that was with her and he said that they were travelling from Tennessee to California,” says Reeves County Sheriff Art Granado.
When asked whether the friend knew she was dead at the time, the sheriff responded that he does not believe so. The sheriff reports that Brashier’s friend has been released from the hospital and is free to return home. The death is suspicious, according to the sheriff, but they won’t know for certain how she died until the autopsy results come back.
