He was announced dead on Sunday morning, the 15th of January 2022 through social media by his family.

Brett John Benjamin Spears, 38, of Truro was reported missing by his family on Sunday, January 8 after they had lost contact with him. The police have posted on social media that Spears is 6 feet tall, weighs between 190 and 195 pounds, has brown buzz-cut hair, a 5 o’clock shadow-style beard, and may be wearing glasses.
Last seen wearing a black canvas jacket with a hood, blue jeans or black sweatpants, dress boots, and a black hat with a red stripe. The post also suggested that Spears may be driving a blue 2015 Kia Forte, although some commenters pointed out that the car is actually grey. The license plate is GXY 847.
