Amy Vaughan West, an amazing educator, preceptor, mentor and student advocate passed away on Friday, the 7th of April 2023. She had a great passion for helping others succeed in the field and life. The staff at The Washington County Career Center – Adult Technical Training is thinking about her family, students, coworkers, past students, and everyone else she touched.
Amy Vaughan West’s cause of death
While the cause of Amy’s death hasn’t been confirmed, a friend of hers is telling people who are dealing with depression or any other mental illness, no matter how small, to talk to someone. “We all fight battles on the inside and some do more than others those who can hide the hurt and pain of depression by smiling on the outside may be fighting demons we don’t understand on the inside! Depression is no joke.”
Who was Amy Vaughan West?
Amy Vaughn West was always willing to help out and help the field grow. She got a lot of people interested in the field of Surg Tech. Amy made a real difference in the area of health care. She loved the game more than anyone else. Everyone who ever met Amy liked her, as shown by the fact that over 3000 people shared the post about her lost hours.
She was the kind of woman who made everyone feel like they were loved and supported while pushing them to be better versions of themselves. She touched a lot of people over the years, and they would have done anything for her. Amy had a golden heart and would have given anyone the clothes off her back and the shoes off her feet. So many people’s lives were changed by her, and mine was one of them.
Amy was more than just a teacher of Surgical Tech. She was also a friend and did a lot of other things. She helped her kids learn and was an advocate for her field. Amy has been on the board of directors for WVAST for a long time. Some of these jobs are on the board, as secretary, and as vice-President.
