Mike Danvers Death – Superstation K106 are devastated to share with many that their dear friend and former coworker Mike Danvers has tragically passed away. Mike Danvers of Wadena, Minnesota died after he suffered injuries following a fall while vacationing in Florida earlier this week. It was reported that he had a serious head injury and he was in a coma before he passed away this afternoon, according to his daughter Nikki.
Mike was deeply respected for his work ethic and commitment to Superstation K106 radio stations and its listeners. He referred to his colleagues as his listeners. “That connection is what catapulted Mike to be the force he was on the air and in the community,” according to Superstation K106. He was also a friend to everyone in the building and many are stunned and saddened. Please keep his family in your prayers.
How did Mike Danvers die?
While Mike was on vacation in Florida, he, unfortunately, suffered an injury from a fall. He sustained a severe head injury and went into a coma. He was being cared for by an excellent group of medical professionals in Orlando, where he was receiving treatment before he was announced dead. “My heart breaks for our kids and all of his family and for his friends.”
Who was Mike Danvers?
Mike Danvers was born in Minnetonka, Minnesota, according to his Facebook profile. He graduated in 1972 from Minnetonka High School. After high school, he went to Brown Institute for Broadcasting and graduated in 1974. Mike started his radio career in 1976 and changed his last name from Mike Huber to Mike Danvers, which is one of the things the entertainment business allows you to do, along with keeping your job separate from your home life.
He has been in Wadena, Minnesota, hosting the morning show and doubling as Program Director for the last 26 years. Mike spent 14 years as a Wis. He was an On-Air Personality at Hubbard Broadcasting. Mike was a retired morning radio host after 45 years. He was a great man and a Wadena legend.
