Miguel Doucette and Kerry Doucette Death – In the first homicides of 2023 to occur in the city of Slidell, two brothers were killed by gunfire on Saturday. The suspect in their deaths was apprehended in Jefferson Parish later that day. According to the Slidell Police Department, Mario Scott, 41, of Slidell is being charged with two counts of first-degree murder as well as one count of being a felon in possession of firearms.
Miguel Doucette, aged 47, and his brother Kerry Doucette, aged 36, were named as the victims by the coroner’s office. At about eleven in the morning of Saturday, March 4th, 2023, they were discovered on the 3100 block of Terrace Avenue. One passed away at the scene, and the other was pronounced dead at the hospital after being taken there by paramedics.
According to the Police Department, the findings of the preliminary investigation show that the two victims confronted Scott about an earlier confrontation they had with their father. Scott opened fire on the two brothers and ultimately took their lives by shooting them. According to the findings of the coroner’s office, both fatalities received several gunshot wounds. After fleeing, Scott was eventually located in Jefferson Parish, where he was taken into custody peacefully by sheriff’s officers from Jefferson Parish and agents from the FBI’s gang task force.

According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, four persons have been detained in connection with a weekend (JANUARY) shooting near Slidell that sent one guy to the hospital with serious injuries. Robby Ray, a resident of the Slidell region, was named by Sheriff’s Office detectives as the shooter at a Shady Lane house. According to a news release, they discovered drugs and shooting-related evidence while searching the house. Investigators discovered that additional people had contributed to the removal of evidence from the scene.
At St. Tammany Parish Jail on a charge of attempted second-degree murder, Ray, 18, was taken into custody. He was additionally charged with obstruction of justice, illegal carrying of weapons, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession with intent to distribute. Courtney Sessions, 18, of Slidell, was arrested for illegal carrying of weapons, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession with the intent to distribute.
The charges of obstruction of justice, drug paraphernalia possession, and possession with intent to distribute were lodged against Slidell resident Courtney Ray, 44. Yantrel Tyner, 22, of Slidell, was arrested for simple marijuana possession and obstructing the course of justice.
