Michael Van Straten, a resident of La Chartre-Sur-Le-Loir, Pays De La Loire, France was announced dead on the 5th of April 2023 at his beautiful home in La Chartre sur Loire, France. He died leaving behind his beloved wife, Celine, who has been by his side for the past 30 years, unwavering in her love, support and care of our Dad, in sickness and in health.
There was no cause of death reported for Michael Van Straten at the time of this publication. Michael Van Straten’s early life
Michael van Straten was born on July 6th, 1939 in La Chartre-Sur-Le-Loir, Pays De La Loire, France. He graduated from Berkhamsted School. After high school, Michael went on to study Naturopathy and Osteopathy at the British College of Osteopathy and Naturopathy where he graduated in 1959.
Career
Michael worked as a naturopath, acupuncturist, and nutritionist. He was also one of the UK’s most respected medical authors, broadcasters, and journalists, with over 40 books sold in over a million copies worldwide. Michael was widely considered a pioneer of modern complementary medicine, having treated monarchy, theatre, film, and TV stars; pop and classical musicians; and sports figures ranging from tennis players and Olympic athletes to racing drivers and footballers.
Michael’s voice was well recognized for broadcasting every weekend with LBC radio for 30 years and now presents a regular show in France. He served two terms as President of the British Naturopathic and Osteopathic Association and was a past Governor of the British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy.
His writing credits include the bestselling Superfoods health/cookbook series, and he served as a consultant editor for the Reader’s Digest reference work Foods That Harm, Foods That Heal. Foods for Mind and Body, The Family Medicine Chest, a book of home remedies, and Organic Living are among the other titles.
Super herbs, superboosters, Organic Superfoods, and the extremely popular Superjuice are all part of the Superfoods line. Mitchell Beazley published a new version of Superjuice in June 2014, and his most recent publication, Super Soups, in January 2015. He was named the Health Food Manufacturers’ Association’s 2004 Health Journalist of the Year.
