Michael Smith Death – Beardstown CUSD #15 Superintendent Michael Smith passed away leaving his family in a devastated state. He died on Saturday 8th January 2023. Beardstown CUSD #15 shared the news of her death on its Facebook page saying “Good afternoon. It is with great sadness to inform you that our Superintendent, Mr. Smith, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning”. According to Redhawk Propane Inc., Michael died from a massive heart attack at his residence.
Michael Smith Education
Michael Smith received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management, General, from Greenville University between the years of 1986 and 1989. He then went on to earn his Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General, from Eastern Illinois University in 1999. It was in September of 2021 that he started his doctoral studies at McKendree University. Superintendent Smith devoted several decades of his professional life to assisting students in the state of Illinois.
Everyone he met adored him because of his high level of intelligence and wit, and he was respected by his peers. In addition to being a source of happiness for himself and his family, he was an inspiration to a large number of individuals. He maintained a perpetually upbeat demeanor and carried out his responsibilities while wearing a broad smile on his face.
Michael Smith Career
Beginning in July 2003 and continuing until June 2007, Michael Smith served as the K-12 School District Principal at Oakland CUSD 5 School District. This tenure lasted for a total of four years. He was elevated to the role of School District Superintendent at Oakland CUSD #5, where he holds the current position. In the Tuscola CUSD 301 School District, where he worked as the School District Superintendent for a total of 8 years and 1 month, he was given the job of School District Superintendent.
He is survived by his wife and daughter, parents Neil and Barbara Smith of St. Elmo, IL, his sister, Nancy Mills (Larry Worman), her daughters, Heather Mills of Crest Hill and Lindsey Mills (Seth Yager) of Dieterich and Sister, Cathy (Curt) Strange of Freelandville, Indiana and their daughter, Cassidy Strange of Vincennes, Indiana.
