Michael Lohmus Cause Of Death, Obituary Not Yet Available – St Ives Chambers is deeply saddened to learn of the loss of Michael Lohmus, a dear friend, colleague, and long-serving member of chambers.
According to stiveschambers.co.uk, Mike was admitted to the bar in 1975 and was one of the first solicitors to be given Higher Rights of Audience when that route became available in 1994. He was a founding partner of Plunkett Lohmus, a well-known Birmingham company that represented clients in some of the area’s most high-profile criminal and family matters. For many years, he was an elected member of the Birmingham Law Society.
It was no surprise when he transferred to the Bar in 2005, as an advocate of distinction, practicality, and tremendous humour. We were proud that he chose to work in these rooms for the rest of his career. In every matter he handled, he was completely focused on his clients and always represented them to the best of his ability.
Everyone in chambers considered him a friend and colleague. He was a fantastic storyteller with a famous sense of comedy. He will be sorely missed. His love and dedication to his wife, Jill, and their boys, Sam and Tom, was only surpassed by his enthusiasm for West Bromwich Albion. At this difficult moment, our thoughts are with them.
