According to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, a man riding a motorbike who died in a crash early Monday has been identified as 46-year-old Michael Grossman of Petaluma.

Grossman was riding his motorbike southbound on US Highway 101 near the Olompali State Historic Park in unincorporated Novato when the accident happened around 6:40 a.m.
According to the inquiry, the motorcycle was sharing lanes at highway speeds when it collided with the rear or side of another parallel moving car that he was attempting to pass in-between the travel lanes.
Grossman lost control of his motorcycle, collided with another car, where he sustained several injuries which later claimed his life at the scene.
