Death: CEO Of The Miami-Dade Beacon Council Has Died – Michael A. Finney, a former Michigan resident, died unexpectedly in Florida over the weekend, shocking friends and associates.
According to detroitnews.com, friend and business acquaintance Eric Knowles, CEO of the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Finney, who was president and CEO of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, a nonprofit public-private economic development group in Florida, died Sunday after having a heart attack.
“From what I could tell, he was in fantastic health,” Knowles added. “He’d just returned from a business trip to Israel for a week. He’d made a big impression in such a little time.”
Mr. Finney, 65, of Coral Gables, relocated to Florida in 2017 to oversee an organization tasked with attracting businesses, jobs, and investment to the Miami-Dade region.
